Define the door and the decision-maker
A storefront, office suite, stockroom and shared building entrance can fall under different management. Identify the affected door and who can authorize work. For leased space, confirm the landlord’s requirements before changing hardware, and make sure somebody with the necessary access can be present.
A handover is a chance to review keys
After a staff change or new tenancy, list the doors a missing or returned key can operate. Discuss whether to rekey suitable cylinders, keep some areas separate or review an existing managed key arrangement. Do not assume that changing the front door also changes a rear entrance or stockroom lock.
Report closing problems as well as key problems
If a door drags, will not latch or needs lifting before it locks, include that symptom in the request. Replacing a cylinder alone may not solve a door or alignment issue. Describe mechanical hardware and electronic credentials separately, and confirm that any proposed work is compatible with the building’s requirements.
Organize the visit around the business
For premises around the Square or Cobb Parkway, provide the correct service entrance and any delivery or parking instructions. Discuss a suitable visit window without assuming a guaranteed response time. At completion, test the agreed entrances with the authorized contact, label the key handover and retain an itemized invoice.
